This year we meet again!

We have the pleasure to invite you to participate at the XXIVth Conference of the Romanian Society Against Epilepsy (SRIE). The conference, including a pre-conference course, will take place between 17-19 November in Bucharest in Capitol Hotel.

The specialists from variate medical fields, working with epilepsy patients, are invited to participate and present their experience discussing problems related to treatment of epilepsy, which represent the main theme of the conference

As part of the scientific agenda we will approach and discuss several themes with practical implications in our day to day activity:

1. Treatment in epilepsy – will be discussed during an interactive course starting from clinical cases (17 Nov);

2. Woman with epilepsy – in the first Conference day (18 Nov) we will discuss different aspects of the epilepsy in females: treatment in adolescent girls, catamenial epilepsy, pregnancy in women with epilepsy, impact of antiepileptic drugs on the babies exposed during pregnancy to antiepileptic drugs (malformations, cognitive impact), birth and postnatal period in women with epilepsy;

3. Epilepsy surgery (19.Nov) – We will discuss hemispheric syndromes and insular pathology, starting from clinical examples;

4. Social aspects in epilepsy – issues related to labour legislation, driving licence, experience of families of patients with epilepsy in the context of Romanian health care will be discussed;

5. European Reference Network for Epilepsy – Epi CARE will be presented to the Romanian physicians, as an inclusive network dealing will matters of health and social problems.

We look forward to seeing you at the SRIE conference and strongly encourage you to submit abstracts and proposals for presentations as well as posters. 

This Conference has already a long tradition which we want to continue.

We ask you to step forward and participate in the Society’s leadership, or in different working groups and to propose different projects in the epileptology area.

Working together with the patients’ associations will lead to a better understanding of all problems that persons with epilepsy face and together with them we may find better sollutions to solve these problems

We hope that this event will be again a success with your help.
